Tennis Update...

For anyone interested in my tennis life... today was AWESOME! :) Our team WON both matches today.. Marilyn and I won both of ours 6-1, 6-1, and then the 2nd match 6-3, 6-3.. We had an injury with our Singles player Deb.. that was a bummer... we need her desparately but Debbie is an excellent motivator... she will bring vision to our last match tomorrow. :)
Look how well this team cleans up! I am telling you that these are some of the most beautiful women I have had the privalidge of knowing and learning how to play the game of tennis with. They had a party at TRC for all the teams... I had a fun time riding in the car with the gals over and back.. One more match and then it on to Nationals. I understand the team we are playing doesnt understand English very well... does anyone know how to say "YOU LOSE"!? Goodnight!

What a day!

I have never eatten so many bananas in one day in my life... Marilyn and my first match against Prescott was fairly simple... I was a little nervous in the 2nd set but we managed to pull it off. My buddies Linda and Danette came to cheer me on... along with some other gals I have played with .. It was a VERY HOT day today... we had to wait around until 11 to play against the Phoenix Fury... the first set we won 6-3, the second set we were down 0-4.. we perservered despite cramping, the heat, dehydration, and exhaustion and came back to tie it up.. played a 7 point tie breaker, lost that 3-7... had to play a 10 point tie break... WON! 10-8... 3 hours later... Marilyn and I were completely spent.. we hugged each other, our whole team stayed in the heat to support us.. it was AWESOME! I really love the gals on this team... I headed straight for the pool, tennis skirt and all..I did take off my shoes and socks... it felt unbelievable...came home and collasped.. woke up and went and had a massage... felt wonderful... still feeling dehydrated...legs are cramping but went to Texas Roadhouse for a Steak/Potato...excited about tomorrow.. it is thundering and lightening as I write.. which means it could be HUMID tomorrow at 8:30 and 11:30... I am going to bed here shortly... please say a prayer that I can survive the heat.

I am pretty sure my hair looks perfect most of the time except....... for in the morning... haha!
This is what Larry wakes up to every morning.. lovely, huh? Hey... there are a lot of products in that hair of mine.. anyway.. thought I would give you a laugh! Did it work?
Today was fun... my tennis partner Marilyn and I met at Wildflowers to discuss our strategy for this weekends upcoming match... we decided we had none but we enjoyed lunch. I learned how to eat grilled artichoke dipped in a garlic sauce... yummmmmmmmy! Then I returned to the humdrum life of never ending errands.. I should be an errand girl.. I do it so well... post office.. groceries.. bank deposits.. wa wa water girl for the office..etc... I am home just in time to go to tennis this evening and it looks great outside.. no monsoons tonight.. does it get any better?

A Great Weekend at the Shipleys....

What a wonderful weekend we shared as
a family... golf, lunch, shopping,swimming, watching a movie... As much as I love tennis.. my most


favorite thing is when my grown children are all together and enjoying one another in various activities.. I can only imagine when the grandchildren come..(hint,hint!) :) Scott had friends over Sat. night.. they were not able to swim in the rain but they sat around the firepit...Becky and Kristen were being funny pulling their hair forward in the water and then backwards to look like George Washingtons time.. remember doing that when you were little..? they also enjoyed handstand contests.. just like old times.. Today is a very important day in Scott's life.. he recieved the Melchezidick Priesthood. We have such awesome leaders in our Ward.. and a GREAT Bishop... all who have been instrumental in Scott's life.. I am very grateful for their love and concern for the Shipleys.. It has been mentally exhausting today but I have been waiting 18 years to witness this great occassion. I took a mental picture today that I will have forever etched in my mind. I missed Alexis today.. she would be very proud of her little brother. :) We will not all be together for another 3 years..:(
What a reunion that will be!!! :)
P.S. Stephanie... I finally found your adorable daughter in church today and took our picture... she was a good sport... didnt remember me... but I remember how special and loved she was when you had her... and the first time you brought your new little baby to church.. 11 years ago... glad I got to see you Julie.. :) hope you had a nice time in Tucson!

She is going to Sectionals in 6 days.....
