Looking BAcK at A WonderFul 2008!

Well... I remember saying that "2008 was going to be GREAT!" and indeed it was...
Alexis left for England in April, Scott (our youngest) graduated from Mountain View High School in May...recieved the Melchizedic Priesthood....completed 1st semester at Pima... straight A's.. Larry turned the BIG 50... had a special birthday party with Marilyn Monroe popping out of a GIANT cake! We were all blessed with excellent health and have had some fun times as a family! I love to look back and see all that we have done... but I really like to look forward to the NEW YEAR!

Here is what the Shipleys have going on for the YEAR 2009:
Scott completes his first year of college.. leaves on his mission.
John and Becky graduate from ASU
Nick graduates from U of A
Larry and Robin plan to go pick up Alexis from mission in England

What a fun and busy year!!!

"2009 is going to be FINE!" or what I have told Larry and our staff at Shipley Chiropractic...
"2009 is the YEAR of the SPINE"

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!!
A TOAST TO HEALTH, WEALTH, LOVE, PEACE, FAMILY AND FRIENDS... and ...OF COURSE LOTS OF TENNIS AND GOLF!!!

It's a BEAUTIFUL Day in the NEIGHBORHOOD!

There goes "Larry JR." aka Scott.
When it RAINS... WE DRAG! Scott decided he would help his OLD MAN out this morning... and a Christmas present for the neighbors and ourselves by dragging the dirt road we live on... we have to do it ourselves because it is not county maintained...
I just got back from helping Scott dig out of a ditch at the end of the street.. LOL!
I had to run about a half a mile up the street with a shovel... Scott said " where is your camera?" haha! I am sure I "AGAIN" was more of a "HINDERANCE" than a "HELP"
I LIKE TO THINK I WAS THERE FOR MORAL SUPPORT! :) Scott did just come in the house and said "THANKS MOM!" :)
The good news is... I havent ran like that on my feet since Nov.. and it felt really good to run on the wet dirt desert.. I think I can start running again.. YEY!
I will wait for the carpets to get cleaned and then I am going to go to one of my favorite running places along the canal... across the train tracks..MAYBE even get to WAVE HI to the CONDUCTOR and HE will blow the horn ... and I will say HI to the COWS.. I havent been there for ages..
Later... Larry and I are going to hit the mall and finish up Christmas shopping and go to Robin's fav. IN and OUT!
Have a GREAT Day! :)

Silent Night...

What a beautiful night... tho windy... one could feel touched by the heralded event
depicted this evening in the Live Nativity... Larry's parents Ray and Donna and his sister Cynthia came to watch Larry as the "OLD SHEPERD" in his final performance along with some patients and Kristen and NIck and Scott and Caitlyn.
He did a GREAT JOB... We are all so proud of him.. Good JOb "Larry the Shepherd"!
I am grateful for REPENTANCE and FORGIVENESS... and for a LOVING SAVIOUR who came to this earth and SUFFERRED AND DIED FOR ME so that I can return to HEAVENLY FATHER and have an ETERNAL FAMILY!

He BEGINS....

Larry beginning the Christmas Lights...

There he goes...

Our Resident Reindeers "Prancer and Vixon"

Robin did all the RED BOWS! GOOD JOB! THOSE BOWS ARE GOING NO WHERE!

Hey Larry... Where does this plug in?

Although very windy this afternoon... the Light Crew is on duty!
Larry said he wouldn't put the Christmas lights up unless I helped this year...
I think he REGRETS this... I was more of a HINDERANCE... you might say. LOL!
You really can't tell but on the Red Bows... Larry said I went a little OCD with the Staple Gun... ha!ha! (well.. it was WINDY!) :)
We were able to get the driveway pretty much done.. I need to go and get some more
greenery and RED bows.. those pesky pack rats got into the shed.
I cant wait until this evening.. the timer is set for 6 p.m.
We are going to Larry's final performance tonight as the Senior Shepherd in the LIVE NATIVITY.

The Holidays are HERE!

Today was so fun... it started with "FUN" tennis this morning.. even tho I lost all 3 sets... I had so much fun with the ladies I played with and against.. I will be glad when I am competing in real matches again because I have so much fun playing tennis these days that I worry about losing focus and improving my game.. tho I have lots to learn and I found just the right team to help me figure some things out about myself.
Later, lucky me got to take Nick's (son-in-law) place with Kristen at her corporate Christmas party at La Paloma... a WONDERFUL dinner and DELICIOUS dessert... plus a chance to get all dressed up with Kristen and have some HOLIDAY FUN! :) The Christmas tree behind us has barrel cactuses all in it.. it was BEAUTIFUL!
Look at Kristen's Christmas tree and all the presents! Wow! She has been BUSY!
Larry was busy being the Shepherd tonight.. I just got home... where is everyone?
Scott is at the ICECATS game.. Larry went to the movies... so, I guess I will go sit in the hot tub!

Today was sure fun..the Annual Christmas and tennis luncheon.. gift exchange..
I came home... turned on the outside speakers.. blasting Christmas music and went right to work on the driveway Christmas decor.. no small job!
Larry has to run the lights for me and then I can put the BIG RED BOWS on...

It's a GREAT DAY to be a WILDCAT!!!

I have been worried about this day for quite awhile.. it was the Ward Christmas party tonight... and being the "Control Freak" that I am... was giving directions right up until about 4 p.m.... after calling during the 2nd quarter of the U of A game... and hearing all was well... I was able to ENJOY the VICTORY tonight! 31-10!!!
We KILLED ASU! Too Fun! Tonight was most unfortunate for the ASU FANS!!!!

The SHEPHERD is BACK!

After his starring role as the "Senior Shepherd" in the Outdoor Live Nativity" last year... Shepherd Larry was asked to return to the stage.... Larry is currently growing his beard out.. and it is driving him CRAZY.. but the Show must go on..
here are some pictures of last year's performance.. We were sooooooo proud of him!
He said it really brought Christmas home for him to feel closer to the Saviour. :)
