Tennis and Lunch

Yesterday, we headed out to Randolf Park to practice on the courts and get a feel for them... well... most of us did!
Jane and I had to sit it out and watch.. but I love to watch tennis so... it was still fun! :)
Afterwards we went to In and Out and enjoyed a last lunch together before the BIG DAY! I am so excited... I can barely sleep!
My foot continues to feel better and I feel confident I am going to WIN!

The Hunter is BACK!

It is 1 o'clock am.. and the HUNTER is HOME! Washing his clothes after not bathing for 4 days... elk have very sensitive smelling issues..SO do I... in the laundrey SHIPLEY!.... and in the SHOWER! Luckily... Bambi is still alive..LARRY is still ALIVE! Larry loved the whole experience and was impressed by his HUNTER Son-in-law JOhn! Thankyou John, for not having any accidental shootings involving Larry ... I am happy to have my "MAN" home to relax for the rest of the weekend! :)

We Won!!!

Aside from getting ready for Nationals in less than a week.. most of our team is in an Interclub team.. it started today and I am happy to report that Marilyn and I won 2 very tough sets. 7-5, and 7-6 (had a tie break.. won 7-5).. and none to soon.. it was a very physical 2 sets..and I really didnt think I could go a third.. foot hurts.. will rest it for a week.. I am sure we will see this sort of competition at Nationals... but we did it! Court 2 took their court as well.. and Court 3 fought a good fight... the rain delayed us this morning.. so we all went to breakfast.. that was fun.
I am lucky to play with these gals.. they have become my dear friends :)

Fountain of Youth!

My Dad gave Larry and I this fountain as a housewarming gift 5 years ago.. I can't believe we have been in this house for 5 years now.. WOW!
I have loved every minute of living out in the desert... and every morning I flip the fountain switch on.. I love how it sounds and especially at night with the lights.
When you feel good in your surroundings... it is soothing to the soul...thus the Fountain of Youth. When the weather cools down is the best because I can open the window and it sounds like I am in a resturant.. Thanks Dad and Kathleen for the most wonderful gift. I JUST LOVE IT!:)

I loved today!

I showed up today at the court like a poor little waif... begging for someone to play with.. as I was not on the line-up for today... and because I seriously think I was about to lose my mind from not playing for 1 whole week! I was able to warm some gals up before the others got there.. and managed to play a few games with some other ladies.. then I went an practiced my serves.. and then later turned on my ipod and watched tennis friends play each other doubles.. I could watch tennis all day! :)
I went to my Apple class and learned some really cool stuff for a project I am currently working on.. had a diet coke... I am now at home.. happy that my foot doesn't hurt.. tho, it could be the cortizone has finally taken effect.. I hope I am not drug tested for stearoids at Nationals.. haha! I am excited to play tennis this evening for an end of the year party and award night at the El Con. Larry is going to Mtn. View football game.. HE is HAPPY... Robin is HAPPY... We're GOOD!

I want to PLAY TENNIS!

Well... I haven't HIT a tennis ball since last Friday.. whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! :(
It wouldn't be so bad if I were on vacation or somewhere exciting but I'm not.. I am at home. I just had a shot in my foot last night... it hurt.. but now it doesn't..
I could go up and just serve a few... 100! haha! but, I won't. It is different when you make the choice not to do something as opposed to NOT being able to.. oh well... as a good friend usually says to me.. and you know who you are.. "this too shall pass!" :)

Water Aerobics...

So, since I have decided to be careful with my foot.. no running... I decided to get up enough nerve to
join in the water aerobics class at the club.. first I swam 20 laps..whew! It was really fun and a good workout!
The ladies were nice... it was funny.. I was splashing and doing the exercises pretty intense and they were all low impact. I also have a hard time following patterns and so I warned the instructor that I am somewhat mentally challenged! The Cannon ball thing didn't go over too well either!
I enjoyed the music they played.. it was from the 70's.. my growing up years!
I think I am going to do this for the next 3 weeks and see what happens...
I got to play tennis a little before we were blown away with strong wind and rain.. darn! Oh well... there is always the morning. :)

Due to extreme tennis and exercise I have decided it wouldn't be prudent at this juncture to compete in the Research for Sickle Cell Anemia 5K. Upon talking to a couple of people about my foot.. it would appear that I have a mild case of plantar faciatis or something similar and that I should probably not run on it for at least a week... I know .... whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! Sorry Becky and Kristen.. maybe the Breast Cancer walk 10/26? I don't want to risk anything for Nationals... it is too important! :)

These 2 girls....Becky and Kristen... (shown above), have somehow talked me into participating in a 5k on Sat. morning up in Phoenix... I tried to tell them I am the slowest runner but they insist this will be FUN!
I am concerned that I will be the object of their FUN! I hope I can bring my Ipod.

You will never guess who Kristen and I saw at the Foothills Mall... Pres. Elect. John McCain, Obama and Hillary Clinton.. UNBELIEVABLE! They were just sitting there in the Food Court eatting a Cousins Sub.
I had so much fun today with Kristen... noone could believe how goofy we acted tonight... actually when all 4 of us girls get together especially in a car with music.. they make me laugh so hard I can barely see to drive. We like LOUD Music! Fun Times! :)
I wasn't really planning on blogging this evening.. didn't even take pictures at Olive Garden.. but when we ran into the Presidential candidates and snagged their pics... I just had to... I felt it was my Patriotic Duty , you know?

Post Labor Day Pics...

Labor Day was so much fun... lots of GREAT food.. family, friends, swimming.. birthday cake etc... I finally got some pictures from Kristen.
Larry and I went to a Mexican resturant called Meniditos on Thursday.. really good food, then we went over to Randolf Park to check out the tennis court situation for Nationals.
I got to play tennis with my night team... a rare treat which I thoroughly enjoyed even tho they are so much better than me... I love playing with them.
Brutal tennis this morning.. even tho I lost, it was so much fun and I know it is helping to improve my game. Later, headed over to Shipley Chiropractic for a massage/reflexology with one of our therapist.. it was WONDERFUL! Kristen had one schedualed for later that day as well.. Both of us are single this weekend so we are planning on having some fun... starting with tennis at 9 in the morning.. lunch and shopping.

Pom Poms.....NOT Bon Bons!

Today was such a fun day... first off Happy Birthday Becky Shipley.. 26! :)
Even tho I was beaten up in tennis today...it was sure fun and competitive!
Afterwards, we went to a tennis friend Donna's home for an end of summer tennis fun party/luncheon and to make Pom Poms for our Nationals tournament coming up in 29 days.
These gals are top notch in my book.. afterwards went to do some errands...made dinner... and then dropped by a wedding shower for Julie Pfau.. a young friend of mine that is getting married here shortly. Wow.. I cant believe how many people were there.. she has alot of friends.. I am glad I am counted amoungst them.. It was great to see my ward friends and their smiling faces.. I am home now.. tired.. a long day of FUN! :)
