Finally... She Blooms!

Isn't this BEaUtiFul? Larry planted this forever ago... as I was driving off for tennis
this morning... I noticed it had finally BLOOMED! and it's a beauty.. so, I put the car back in park.. ran in the house for the camera and snapped this picture.
I guess you could say I stopped and smelled the roses... or in this case the Hybiscus! :)
For just a brief moment... I felt gratitude deep within for the Beauty of the Earth of which our Heavenly Father had intended for us to experience and it felt really nice...
I started my day off with 2 sets of singles tennis.. even able to play with 3 stitches in my finger.. tho I lost both sets.,,my opponant Joanie Watkins is the BEST it was so FUN! :)

Wasn't today BEAUTIFUL? The boys golfed this morning... Robin got up early.. sauteed the mushrooms, onions, celery etc.. greenbean casserole, peeled potatoes, baked pumpkin pies..rolls..the TURKEY turned out GREAT! the house smelled WONDERFUL! Both sets of grandparents came over... a simple traditional Thanksgiving dinner.. lots of pictures!
I loved the rain.. although.. I am hoping it stops for a little while.. so I can play TENNIS! :) Scott said "This was the BEST Thanksgiving EVER" It is hard to believe that this is our last Thanksgiving with him for 2 years..what will I do without my BOY?
The picture of the flowers on the door is what I came home to this morning... my wonderful neighbor Kathy left them on my door with a Thanksgiving card.. I love my neighbors..I have so much to be GRATEFUL for.. if you are reading this then you know me and if you know me then I LOVE YOU! Happy Thanksgiving!!! :)

Family Favorite... Olive Garden!

Well... if I can't have my family with me for Thanksgiving...we decided to go out to the new Olive Garden in Oro Valley... missed you... Becky and John.. hurry up and get down here... let's hope it doesn;t rain tomorrow morning.. so Kristen and I can play tennis.. and the boys can go play golf.. I have to get up E A R L Y !

This just makes our day! Alexis is HAPPY.. SAFE.. and celebrating Thanksgiving in England with an American family living there.. this is the home where they are staying.. she say it is considered "POSH"...

Getting ready for Thanksgiving..,Being Thankful!

Ok..game plan for today... after getting to the pool by 6:30 and swimming my laps.. a bit chilly and windy.. I have decided I had better get ready for Thanksgiving.. and as much as I like Thanksgiving.. I AM REALLY ALL ABOUT CHRISTMAS!!! I am pulling out Christmas today... in fact.. because as you can see I have an enormous job out in the front...a long driveway to get ready.. I love Christmas lights..every year Larry claims "he is too old" "and not putting up christmas lights anymore.." "the kids are grown.." "we live clear out in the desert.. yada, yada.." and every year and we think of a new theme for our lights (annual tradition).. you will find Larry out there putting up lights.. they are so beautiful.. I know he does it for me because I love them so.. I remember being a little kid and falling asleep in the family room watching the lights flicker.. and I still do it as an adult. :)
These are about the only Thanksgiving decorations I have.. and I love them.. the turkey pumpkin was made by my niece Kate.. and I love him and bring him out every year!
Mr. and Mrs. Pilgrim.. I bought at Cracker Barrel years ago.. and they are like old friends coming home.. well.. I off to go and get my Turkey!

Tortolita Ward Variety Show!!!

Tonight was fun... we have alot of talent in the Tortolita ward.. although our numbers were few.. there was great talents shared tonight.. from Barbershop Quartets... to Irish dancing... musical numbers.. joke telling and people displaying various artwork, beadwork, and dollmaking etc.. afterwards we enjoyed Marie Callendars Pies.. YUM!

Yesterday...after losing a tennis match and feeling very unhappy with myself.. I had the privalidge of attending a luncheon held at Michaelangeloes for a dear woman who gives me anxiety on the court every time I play her.. she has a slice like NO OTHER.. a warm smile but I am telling you... she is DANGEROUS! :) About 30 or so very fun gals came together and it was just a really nice luncheon..many of the women there have known Marilyn for years.. I have only known Marilyn for about a year..so it was a real honor to get to go to such a special event... 80 years old TODAY!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY Marilyn.. YOU are AWESOME! Keep playing TENNIS!

27 years ago TODAY! Me..19 and He...23! Raised 4 Beautiful KIDS.. and have been blessed with 2 GREAT Son-in-laws..
Today... 46 and and 50!:) We are in in for the long haul!!!

Tennis...Nationals Team Party!

The morning started off perfect... I partnered up with one of my fav. gals Patrice.. and we beat Canyon del Oro in 2 sets..6-3 and 6-1.. then headed over to Jane's (Team Capt) house.. which was really beautiful on the 18th hole of the golf course..really cool views.. and had a great luncheon and great conversation and watched the National DVD.. too fun.. it ended with Robin having to go to WORK! ughhhhhh... Look at those cupcakes... let me tell you.. they were AMAZING!!! Marilyn made my favorite cornbeef ring.. it is too die for.. and Lasagna, jello salad, shrimp, hummice... oh boy!
We all agreed today...that we may never have the experience that we did this past year.. these are outstanding ladies.. although half us are parting ways and playing on opposing teams starting next week.. we have formed some wonderful memories and relationships!
I am so grateful for each and every one of these ladies.. each has taught me something different and that is something I will always treasure!

Yesterday was so much fun...tennis.. foot felt pretty good... although was asked to play this morning and sorely tempted... but luckily they found a forth person.. so it is to the pool to swim and the apple store to wrap up a project... oh yeah.. I had to work in the office yesterday and this afternoon... hmmmmmm.. that should cost Dr. Larry a new tennis outfit..what do you think? lol!

Well.. time is almost up.. I am eager to get back on the court Monday morning.. but for the last 2 weeks I have made some fun changes in my work out and made a good friend as pictured above.. Mr. BALL MACHINE.
I played him this morning in a match... as you can see... I WON!
What a beautiful day this morning was.. swim, bike and tennis.. I have decided to cross train T/Th/Sat... and now... after all of that... it is off to IN and OUT to have a Hamburger/Animal Style.. yum!

What went from an ordinary day to REALLY FUN! Swam, watched my team sweep the courts today..went to Gavi with Kristen...came home.. laundrey.. getting ready to fix dinner.. only to get a call saying forget dinner we are going to the WILDCAT BASKETBALL GAME!!!
That was soooooooooooooooooooooooooo fun!!! I saw Doug Williams and Gary Clark.. and Jane and Mike Toriello and even had a picture with "Wilbur the Wildcat". I think Scott and his friend Scott wanted to hide under their chairs at that point.. lol!
It was so fun to see all that RED!!!

After feeling a snap in my bad foot Friday while playing tennis.. I went in to have it looked out fearing the worst.. a stress fracture.. instead Brad said " Congratulations Robin... you just performed your own surgery!" "Stay off it for 2 weeks and you should be just fine!" He said I could even go and practice serves.. so with that GREEN light.. I was out there this morning.. only after swimming 35 laps ( 1/2 mile) and riding the bike for 30 min.. it feels GREAT!
I will be swinging a raquet in no time and be even better than before.. Meaner.. LEaner!!! GRRRRRRRRRRRR....

Fun Weekend...

Saturday.. ran errands... made chicken stroganoff for dinner.. YUM! Went to Stake conference Adult meeting... afterwards went to Chili's.. Kristen came and joined us for a Pazookie...came home... jaquzzi..and bed..

Sunday... church at 10 a.m.... came home..napped..ate leftovers.. grilled steak and shrimp on the barbee.. NIck and Kristen came over.. watched Ironman.. jaquzzi.. bed..
